Boston Whaler 13 Sport Interior
| The boat is a 1981 13' sport that my father bought me new when I was 12. In 1986 I sold it to my neighbor for his kids. I moved to FL in 98 but whenever I would visit NJ, I would leave a note saying I wanted it back. In 2006(20 years to the day I sold it) I bought it back sight unseen. I had it shipped to FL, repowered with a Suzuki/Johnson 40hp 4 stroke and then installed your Nautical Lumber interior in April of this year. along with a custom cover, cushions, decals and bimini. The interior fits like a glove and looks like furniture, better than factory. The 15' console was the ticket. It allowed me some body room and also a place to mount a tach, controls, etc. I highly recommend the console upgrade. Boat has been buffed and waxed and looks showroom. I get tons of compliments, especially about the woodwork. If you do not have the wraparound rail I would recommend having Mike cut the side risers so the rear twart will be on TOP of them for more legroom. Having my rail setup would not allow this unless I modified the railing which I did not want to get into...but I should have. Replacing the entire interior took only a few hours and requires basically only a screw gun. The console requires a hole saw for steering and gauges but is easily accomplished. The wood is very thick as well so some mods were needed on the gauge mounts to adjust for the thicker material. - Nick Manukas |
